Faithful Mama

Our mama hen is still doing well with her 6 little chicks following her around the yard. She is intensely protective... whenever one of the chicks gets separated and we try to return it to her, she comes charging at us with her wings outspread. I have never seen such encapsulated fury. Roosters trying to flog me do not scare me, they are all posturing and flapping. This little hen comes flying with her beak ready to do some damage! What an amazing thing. She is truly my favorite thing to watch, cooing over her little ones all day long. And I am happy that she does not get separated from her little ones often.
