Today was incredibly hectic, so of course, something amazing happened to help me get through. We finally got the call that all the paperwork had been completed through the Ethiopian government and now we are going to be filed for a court date. Brian was almost in tears as he handed me the phone to get the good news. The end result is that we will be assigned a court date and will travel 3 weeks after getting our assigned date. It could take up to 2 months to get a date, but at the very least it means we WILL be traveling before the end of the summer and will be bringing the kids home before the holidays.
Telling our kids here was the funnest part. Allen whooped, saying he will do everything he can to help his new "bro" fit in. Emily just grinned. Poor thing. She has been so sick over the past week, that was a major effort for her. And for me, this whole process has been so long that until the date is assigned, I'm just a bit numb inside. One of our good friends is at the orphanage now picking up her children and she reports that Yabsira and Enat are delightful and are doing well. The only time I get excited about the news is when I think that we might actually be over there before she comes back in 6 weeks. Then I get butterflies in my stomach and start desperately making plans to whip this house into order. And pray for bonding that will be strong between Allen and Emily and Yabsira and Enat.
Praying is the only thing that makes any sense right now. Thus far, the whole process has been extremely unpredictable.
At least we are narrowing names down. Perhaps Yabsira Benjamin and Enat Naomi or Enat Megan. Still so hard to know... don't really know what they would like.
Praising God for amazing news. And for His perfect timing.
